The Retirement Advantage Boards of Directors are responsible for setting the Retirement Advantage business strategy and making sure the business is run efficiently, legally and for the benefit of Retirement Advantage policyholders. Derek Netherton Non-Executive Director
Derek Netherton was appointed as Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Boards in January 2018.
Since October 2011, Mr Netherton has been a director of The Canada Life Group (UK) Limited and Canada Life Limited, and Chairman of the latter since 2016 .
He is also a director of Irish Life Group, a position he has held since July 2013. Previously, Mr Netherton was Chairman of Greggs PLC. and a Non-Executive Director of Next PLC. and St James’s Place PLC.
Derek previously held executive positions at J. Henry Schroder Wagg & Co Limited.

Craig Fazzini-Jones Chief Executive Officer
Craig joined Marine and General Mutual as a director and a member of the Executive team in 2008 with responsibility for setting up and managing the Society’s retirement business and leading the promotion and development of the Society’s offering in the post retirement market. In 2011 he was appointed as Chief Operating Officer with additional responsibility for Human Resources, Customer Services, IT and Change. In December 2013 he became an Executive Director of the new group, which rebranded as Retirement Advantage in May 2015. He was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the group in April 2017.
Craig has a strong background in the life and pensions and retail banking industry with specific experience in the annuity market.
Before joining Retirement Advantage, Craig worked for Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS) where he was senior director of Retail Strategy (Europe & North America). Craig also held other senior roles at HBOS, including Head of Bancassurance Operations and Head of Bank of Scotland Annuity Service (BoSAS), where he managed the largest annuity broker in the UK. Prior to HBOS, Craig held business development and strategic delivery roles at Accenture and Procter and Gamble.

Since 2014 Doug Brown has been Executive Vice President and CEO, UK Division of Canada Life.
Originally from Canada, Doug moved to the UK in 2003 and joined Canada Life in 2012. Previous to joining Canada Life, he held roles as Chief Operating Officer of Alico UK (subsidiary of AIG), Chief Executive Officer of Alico UK, Regional President of Alico (UK and Ireland), Head of Global Bancassurance of Alico and Chief Risk Officer for Aviva Europe.
He has also previously led AIG’s Employee Benefits divisions in both the UK and Canada.Doug qualified as a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in 1997.

Chris Evans Non-Executive Director, Stonehaven
Chris Evans spent 20 years with Prudential plc, where he became Managing Director of Prudential Holborn, the UK IFA distribution business. He then joined the board of Prudential Corporation Asia, serving as Managing Director of Prudential’s Thailand business and finally, he launched a new continental European operating unit, Prudential Europe.
After leaving Prudential in 2002, Chris spent three years working for HBOS Europe Financial Services and then for Mercer Human Resource Consulting, where he was Chief Executive of their Employee Benefits, Retirement Solutions and Benefits Outsourcing business.
In 2007, Chris became CEO of Marine and General Mutual, the Company re-launched itself as an innovative specialist retirement income provider serving customers through the IFA channel. In December 2013 he became CEO of the new group of companies, rebranded as Retirement Advantage in May 2015.
Chris retired as CEO of Retirement Advantage Group at the end of April 2017 and was Non-Executive Chairman of Stonehaven from April 2017 to July 2018, when he stepped down as Chairman, but remains on the Board as a Non-Executive Director. Chris is a Non-Executive Director at Footdown Limited and is a member of the Advisory Board at SteelEye Limited.

Tom Evans Managing Director, Equity Release
Tom joined Stonehaven as Finance Director in June 2011 and was subsequently appointed as Chief Financial Officer in December 2011. In September 2014 Tom was appointed as Managing Director of Stonehaven - and in May 2015, he was appointed as Managing Director, Equity Release of Retirement Advantage.
Prior to joining Stonehaven, Tom had 10 years' financial services experience in Blue Chip companies, including Ernst & Young LLP, and Phoenix Group Insurance. Tom has been a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAS qualified) since 2005, and graduated from The University of Warwick with a 1st Class Honours degree in Maths, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics (MORSE).

Sir William Proby Non-Executive Director
Sir William was elected as a Non-Executive Director of the Marine and General Mutual in July 2006, became its Chairman in December 2007 and was Chairman of the newly structured companies from December 2013 to January 2018.
He has a strong background in the City, having started his career as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse & Co, moving on to Morgan Grenfell & Co where he specialised in corporate tax planning and mergers and acquisitions. During the 1980s, Sir William became Chief Executive of MWP Ltd, an associate company of Morgan Grenfell.
He has a long association and deep interest in the nation’s heritage, having served as the President of the Historic Houses Association and as Chair of The National Trust from 2003 to 2008.
Sir William was a Trustee and Chairman of the National Portrait Gallery from 2009 to 2017. Sir William was also a trustee of Howard de Walden Estates until December 2017, when he was appointed as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Howard de Walden Estates.

Nathan Moss Non-Executive Director and Chairman, Stonehaven
Nathan Moss was appointed as Non-Executive Director of the Boards in January 2018 and Chairman, Stonehaven in July 2018.
Mr Moss is a director of The Canada Life Group (U.K.) Limited and Board Risk Committee Chairman. He became Chairman of Wesleyan Assurance Society Board in January 2018, having joined the Society as Non-Executive Director in June 2017.
He has more than 35 years’ experience in the wealth management, banking and insurance sectors.
During his career Mr Moss has undertaken senior executive roles at HSBC, Scottish Widows, Lloyds TSB and Friends Life. He holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and a BA, Industrial Economics from Nottingham University.

John Cusins Non-Executive Director
John was appointed to the Boards in November 2013.
He was employed by Phoenix Group from 2005 until 2011 where he was a founder and held the role of CEO, CIO and CFO of Axial Investment Management, and served on the board of Ignis Asset Management, Pearl Group Limited and various other life companies within what is now the Phoenix Group PLC.
Prior to this John was a Managing Director at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson where he worked within the Capital Markets business with a focus on asset and liability management for pension funds and insurance companies using multi-asset derivatives.
John is a director of Lumin Wealth Management Limited, Strathdon Investments plc and BHR Consulting Limited.
John is a chartered UK accountant having qualified with KPMG, and holds an MA in mathematics from Oxford University.
