Retirement Advantage takes the confidentiality of personal data seriously. Please contact us if you have any questions or comments on this privacy policy.

Our privacy policy sets out the ways Retirement Advantage processes personal data. This privacy policy only relates to personal data collected by Retirement Advantage via the Retirement Advantage website. All personal data collected by Retirement Advantage is used in accordance with data protection legislation.

This privacy policy does not apply to personal data provided to Retirement Advantage by any other means or via any other website. You should be aware that if you provide personal data to other companies, the privacy policies of those companies determine the uses to which that information is put and Retirement Advantage's privacy policy will no longer apply.

Personal information provided to Retirement Advantage via the Retirement Advantage website will be used for the purposes outlined at the time of collection.

In addition, personal information may be used for statistical analysis.

Personal data will be collected and processed by Retirement Advantage for the following purposes: to provide goods and services, including marketing, advertising and promotions, unless a user elects to opt-out of receiving such communications.

Your personal details may be passed onto third parties within the MGM Advantage group and third party providers in order to assist in the administration and processing of applications.

By providing personal data to Retirement Advantage you consent to the processing of such data by Retirement Advantage as described in this privacy policy.

In order to process any application, we will search the files of credit reference agencies, however we will not record any credit searches on your file. This is to help us prevent fraud, to check your identity and to prevent money laundering.

  1. Use of data for direct marketing purposes

At each point of data collection you are given the opportunity to opt-out of receiving future direct marketing material from Retirement Advantage. If you do not opt-out of such communications, Retirement Advantage may provide information on our products, services, events, and training and education programmes. If at any time you want Retirement Advantage to stop sending such communications, you can ask us to remove your details from our contact list.

If, at any time, you want to verify, update or amend your personal data, you can email the request to er-support@retirementadvantage.com. Verification, updating or amendment of personal data takes place within 40 days of receipt of the request.

If you communicate with us by email, we may keep your email, together with your email address and our reply, for our business records. We give the same protection to our electronic communications as we do to information we receive by post or phone.

We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that any information you provide on our websites (including the use of our KFI Generator by advisers) is kept secure. However, messages sent by email cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure as they may be intercepted, lost or corrupted. We are therefore not responsible for the accuracy of the messages sent by email over the internet - whether from us to you or from you to us.

If you ask us to email you information that is personal or confidential, we may need to ask you for extra information to confirm your identity and to give us authority to send that information to you. Alternatively we may look to provide this information to you by another means.

This section refers to our privacy policy in relation to our KFI Generator.

The KFI Generator is a dedicated website with secure entry for use by advisers who have been directly authorised to have access. This access is agreed by Retirement Advantage as part of our adviser registration process. Our KFI Generator is an on-line tool for the use of producing client KFIs.  

  1. Using our KFI Generator 

You will be asked to log in using your username (your registered email address) and password. If this is your first time logging in, you will need to use the password emailed to you by Retirement Advantage. If you have used the KFI Generator before, you will have changed your password to something more memorable.

The KFI Generator uses a cookie in order to provide a secure login. This cookie is used solely by the KFI Generator, and does not store any personal information. The data is not shared with any third parties.

After logging in to the KFI Generator, all page accesses are logged for security and audit purposes. Page accesses are linked to each individual logged in. We use such data to ensure we can provide you with support in the event that you encounter an error with the website, or if we need to ensure compatibility with certain web browser technologies. We may audit the access logs in the event of an issue with the KFI Generator, or in the event that we suspect malicious or illegal activity.

We require this information to provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

Our KFI Generator is only available to advisers who are registered with Retirement Advantage. If you would like to register, please see email er-support@retirementadvantage.com

Our KFI Generator is a secure site that uses 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security, subject to your web browser limitations, to encrypt data in transit between your browser and the server.

  1. Client data

Client data entered by advisers onto our KFI Generator will only be accessible to the adviser, nominated administrators at the firm, and Retirement Advantage, and is only used for the purpose of providing quotations. Client data will not be used for direct marketing purposes.

We may however disclose and /or use any information or data you give us for the purpose of exchanging information, crime prevention, conducting market research, preparing strategic or other marketing plans or gauging product sales or product performance. We may also exchange the information with associated companies, service providers or agents with which we have a contractual relationship, or to any party in connection with the approved uses of such information set out above.
